Look around you Yanswers is one of many places where people of today's modern world can b*tch about ever little inane thing wrong in their life ... obviously the don't think their live are insignificant ...but I agree that religion does help people cope with the undeniable fact that balanced against the rest of the universe we are a very insignificant portion of it .... though when you say it , it just comes out bitter and reproachful I think you should work on that !

a little on the harsh side, aren't we???? actually, i'm not insignificant...i am wonderfully made by my creator-He said that He made me a little below the angels...He loves me so much that He sent His own Son into the world to provide a way for me to live on forever with Him after this body gives out...my only claim to insignificance is that i did nothing to earn this...it is a gift from Him...and on the 'secular' side of things, i'm the child of my parents, who loved me very much-i'm the brother to some wonderful siblings who think i'm pretty special...i'm the husband to a fantastic woman who has stood by me from the day we met...and i'm the proud father of a couple of amazing kids who love their dad even tho (and sometimes, because) he's a goofball...not to mention the rest of my extended family and friends...an insignificant little nothing? heck, i'm just like old george bailey-the richest guy i know!

Why do you feel the need to attack those who are sincere? Is it because you feel that you are an insignificant little nothing? There are psychologists who specialize in helping people like you with low self-esteem. Give one a call.

Actually it was Moses that said "now I know that man is nothing, which thing I had never supposed" Jesus said
"forget yourselves take up your cross and follow me." True Christians are willing to forget themselves every day to sacrafice for others. What a pity it is that some people like you can't even get past there own stubborn pride long enough to see how much love is in this world because of Jesus Christ.

I'm not a christian. but any ways insignificant little nothings huh so why is murder, rape, burglery and incest, wrong. there must be some meaning or you would not care about such things. lets say that your mother fell victom to these that I just listed. would you care would you care signifigantly, why what bestowed these things. do you only listen to what your told or do you try to reach a higher level on your own. your question leads me to believe you have been taught this belief

I know that I am an insignificant little nothing in this vast universe.

That is why I realize that I need Jesus. Praise be to God.

Boy, oh boy. I would hate to spend an hour with you. I would probably go jump of a bridge or something. Have a great night, sour puss.

My religion makes me see I am insignificant, but a perfect part of the wonder of existence. Try Buddhism, no bullshit.
