I have this severe tooth ache since thursday night. It started all of a sudden in the middle of the night. I called the dentist and he said he can't get me in for 2 wks. I went to the medical clinic on campus on Saturday and they prescribed me hydromet which didn't work for the pain at all. So my roommate gave me vikoden. It takes the vikoden over an hr to kick in and then it only lasts for 4 hrs. When I went to the medical clinic she felt my tooth and gums and she didnt think it was a tooth infection bc both of them doesn't hurt when pressure was added. But I have this pain in the lower right, back of my jaw and now the pain is going towards both my upper and lower front teeth. the gums on the front upper teeth sting along with the pain from the lower back jaw. Also, when i drink water, the pain goes away. Anyone could help, this pain is killing me

Yeah,I agree with Neil. You have to be seen tomorrow, that can't wait. Call the office and be really nice and beg them to see you.Tell them that you will sit and wait untill they can squeeze you in sometime during the day. That's just awful that they won't see you.In the office that I work in we never turn away people in pain.We pretty much work through lunch everyday, but it's worth it when people are in pain.Good luck.

Toothaches are painful but can be prevented
by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride

You sound very much like you have an open nerve somewhere. I used to get a similar thing and sipping water was the only thing which helped initially. Then I discovered something called Orajel. I dont know what it might be called overseas but thats what its called in the UK.

Ahhh, just checked their website. Its available in the US and is BRILLIANT!!

It was the only thing which stopped my pain!

Call another dentist. Many take patients in pain on short notice. 2 weeks is ridiculous. Also, go back to the clinic to get a different med to cover you until your appointment. I hope that you're pain free soon.
