Well i run kenwood head units have for years and love them have a alpine dva 7 inch fould out screen and dont like all that much, any ways i would go with a kenwood head unit they have sub outputs and the level for the sub so you can adjust just the level of the sub also most of them have crossovers in the head unit for the sub and the front and rear speakers, they run around 300 bucks but there are cheeper ones that should have the same features

Hey man I got a Panasonic cq-c5401u. That has a subwoofer level control built in. But seriously if I were you just get an amp that has a subwoofer remote control built in. They are easy to find. I have a rockford fosgate 401s that has (bass remote). That's whats its called. My control is this small knob placed right by my seat that is connected to my amp by a phone line. It's awesome. Gives you complete control of your subwoofer. Some songs just have too much bass and some don't have enough. It's great. So look for that!

You do want a line out convertor (LOC). also they're undemanding as hi/Lo convertors. in case your amp has hi aspect Inputs, which is called Speaker or Line aspect Inputs, then you definately do not favor an LOC, you may basically tap your inputs from the speaker wires immediately to the amp. sturdy success!
