Dear Math Lady,
My best friend owns a 1999 Ford Windstar and they have already put 193,000 miles on it, and it runs like new. So you should have good luck with the Windstar. Hope I was helpful!
Good Luck,
Fred Smithers

I have a 2002 Ford Windstar that I just got about a month ago and have already put close to 2000 miles on it and those are working miles most often with a trailer and loaded with scrap. Mine is showing 123xxx it is running good. It was my grandmas, she lived in Iowa so there is the rust issue but other than that it is perfect. I would recommend one to anyone!

You didn't say what year or what engine you have.. the early 95+ 3.8 motors had head gasket problems, better after 2000. You will probably need a transmission rebuild around 100,000 miles.. Fred in the previous answer me thinks is an exception to the rule. That would be a lot of lucky miles on a Honda Minivan.

My 1998 Windstar has 209,000 miles on original engine and tranny. Runs like new - Well almost.
From my observation if properly maintained and driven gently many windstars crap out at 215,000 to 225,000 miles. there are exceptions and they can go further, depends on how quickly you roll up the miles too.

Here it is 2015 and my 2003 Windstar is going strong with 528000 miles. YEP. 528000. Original engine, second USED tranny. Lots of oil changes and good tires. It something breaks, fix it. Cheaper than a new van. And I use it a lot. Travel all over the eastern US. Late nites, weekends, very reliable. I like it.
