Do a search 'holistic psychiatrists' with your city or area. Call the closest doctor and call - if you can't get an appointment, ask for referrals for other holistic psychiatrists in your area.
If you're looking for counseling without meds, you might also try psychologists, MFT's (marriage and family therapists, who all know how to work with individuals also), and LCSW's (licensed clinical social workers). All of those work with emotional issues without prescribing medications.
Keep going until you find what you need.

look for one who is a doctor of osteopathy. They will have a DO behind their name. They are like MDs but are taught to use a more holistic patient-centered approach. However, they only make up 9% of physicians, and a smaller proportion of each specialty, so this may be difficult to do.
You could also see a psychologist. They do a lot of the same as psychiatrists but are not allowed to prescribe medications.

Good luck with that. Doctors are prescription pushers they get perks such as vacations, dinner, and golf outings from pharmaceutical company for prescribing their drugs.

You might want to look up on the net for a phycologist. Sometime they specialze in holistic treatments.

you make an appointment to interview the doctor. We interview and get references for home repairs, but we just "go" to a doctor. Ask your questions during the "interview". These visits should be free.

I would not rely on a psychiatrist, study it yourself and learn what you can take for certain things, you will be better off if you arm yourself with the knowledge, but I agree with you, drugs are not the way too go. GOOD LUCK!
