I live in reno so i don't do internet betting i go to the casino sports book and bet. but i haven't won anything yet. i've come close but missed it by 1/2 a point

You can't. That's why they exist. Because they make their money by "people losing". The games are all set up so that the odds favour the house or the bookies.
Do you really think that organized crime or even so-called "honest" gambling establishments would be in the business if it was easy to win?

Don't gamble, it is an addiction.
My advice is to invest your money in a savings account.

Simple answer you will never come out ahead, have you ever seen a poor bookie. The best way to win is dont bet in the first place. If you are going to carry on throwing your money away I will send you my address and you can throw it at me. Why not put it the bank where you be paid interest on what you save at least you are getting something back.
