Name given to people that can write letters under the influence of Spirits. They even have the same writing and signature of the beloved one who had passed away. There are several messages that come through this fonomena. There are several books written by Spirits.

spirit inspired writing , or automatic writing ( as its more commonly known )

i should say the two above are seperate
the inspired writing is not physical mediumship but mental mediumship , but automatic writing is as you described
