Even if he could have, why would he now? He didn't stop the Holocaust, he didn't stop the Inquisition, he didn't stop Hurricane Katrina, he didn't stop the Tsunami that killed hundreds of thousands of people and he didn't stop Bush's unholy war in Iraq. Why on heaven and earth would he have stopped 9/11 if he didn't stop any of these other horrors?

Why should God stop a man made disaster it would just happen again somewhere else.
God gave everyone Free Will to use and not abuse.
People make the peace on Earth
The same as People make the wars
It is all man made.
People need to learn Self Responsibility
Actions create Reactions and then someone has to pay the Consequences
Love & Blessings

No He couldn't have and remained true to His Word. If God did not judge America for her sins He would have had to resurrect Sodom and Gomorrah and apologize. America deserved the judgment she received, especially after 8 years of a lying womanizing liberal president and her husband did all they could to undermine the Christian principals this country has stood for so long on.

Some Christians believe God allowed terrorists to kill thousands of innocent people to punish us for our wicked ways.
Some believe that God doesn't stop these tragedies from happening because we have free will.
I believe there is no God, so therefore He could not have stopped the attacks.
(I use the capital letters in God and He to be polite to christian readers. See? Not all atheists are mean)

If you mean could He have miraculously caught the planes in mid air and set them gently down on an airfield, then flicked the terrorists into jail with His finger? Yeah, He could have.
I think as a nation we have failed in asking God to protect us, we have failed to take notice and follow the example of the Jews in their way of asking for His divine intervention.

Perhaps you could explain what "god" you are asking about?
My GOD, explains Himself in the Bible, both the NT and the OT!
Perhaps you missed what Satan said to Jesus in Matthew 4 and Luke 4 ? ? ?
YOU shall Not Tempt the Lord GOD!
Thanks, RR
