c and d. Both are ball and socket type joints, but the socket in the hip is much larger and is actually broken in most dislocations. There is also ligament reinforcement both inside and around the entire joint, whereas in the shoulder there is ligaments reinforcing the joint, but dislocations usually occur in a downward/anterior direction where the joint is lacking ligamentous support. There are also a large group of muscles that span this joint and help to support it.
Most hip dislocations occur in old age when both tendons and bones are weakened.
