my best friend Allie and i want to get matching tattoos when we turn 18...we have a while to think about designs, but any ideas??? we know we're getting them on our lower backs, and we want them to be matching, but we're not quite sure what we want to get....

I'm 36...2 years ago my BFF and I did this. We got a symbol that stands for friends tattooed onto our left shoulder blades. About 4-5 months ago I had the first initial of each of my sons names tattooed on my right shoulder blade, The Z and A are intertwined it turned out awesome!

Don't really know what to get but here are some definite DON'TS:
1. NO NAMES!!
2. NO INITIALS!!
3. NO WORDS AT ALL!!
Keep it symbolic. Have you guys had any seriously memorable experiences together? Try to pull from that.
And since you are under aged as of right now - I'd seriously consider the length of your current friendship before making anything permanent.

I say get a symbol of something that has a special meaning to the both of you. You never know what will happen down the road and the last thing you want is something on you as a reminder.
Matching flowers, tribal designs, symbols, ect.
Stick with that, NO names, NO initials, NO words!!

me and a friend of mine were thinking of doing something similar as our next tattoos.. i suggest doing something original, like draw something yourself, or make it an inside thing between you and her, something that bonds you guys or represents the friendship you guys share..

u shld get a tattoo tht comes in pairs like wongs or the sun/moon. but u must always remember the word "IF". lets say what "IF", u n yer best fren were no longer together. no offence though.
