I'm assuming you mean that you've gained a lot of weight, which is definitely a health concern. I'd suggest examinig your diet and look for ways you can cut back. One place I never noticed cutting calories was drinks - try diet sodas instead of regular, light juice instead of regular. I also like Crystal light, which has many great flavors and are a great substitute. If you eat a lot of candy and sweets, I'd try to find some healthier substitutes for them. You could look for some sugar free candy, or try a sweet fruit instead. The next step is portion control. Try using smaller plates to "fool" your brain into thinking you're eating more than you are. When you finish that plate, distract yourself for a little while and then reassess yourself to decide if you're truly still hungry. If you are, you can try having some vegetables to help fill you up. Do you find that you eat when you're stressed, lonely, or upset? Try to find some alternative activities that fulfill your need. For stress relief you can take a walk, try a hot bath, drink some caffiene-free, sugar-free herbal tea, write in a journal, or talk to a friend. Some of those suggestions may also work for other causes of "emotional eating". You might also want to meet with a dietitian to help you come up with an action plan to make sure your're not feeling hungry but getting balanced nutrition. The next step is to get some exercise. I'd suggest starting with walking because it's easy and all you need is a good pair of shoes to support your feet. Maybe one of your friends would be willing to walk with you and help you keep consistent. I know it's a lot of information, but start slowly. In the bottom line, I'd try to make one or two concrete changes every couple of weeks. Changing too much all at once is very difficult to stick with, and that's the key to making a healthy lifestyle work. Good luck!

Christmas is often a time for merry making but I didn't realised that you've extended the merry makng this long. Eat sensibly from NOW onwards and start an exercise regime. Get some friends to help you with the exercise. With group, you would feel obliged to continue with the exercises versus doing it alone. I'm not selling it but have you considered Cambridge Diet? I've heard that it works pretty well but of course, like any diets, you need to be deciplined.

I lost 15 pounds in one month. I ate fruit for breakfast, had a lean cuisine (or something like it) for lunch, a salad at about 3pm, a small dinner and finally some fruit at about 7. I clocked my calories here http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/Index.html. And I was never hungry.
