my vet said he might be another siezure dog like my other one.
usally he will pace around like he is constipated and anxious.
also his back legs tighten up or something, cause he walks funny.
it last like 5 minutes and goes away.
But this time I am on the PC at the desk, he was clawing me, so I thought he just wanted to sit on my lap. I put him there and he was shaking, bad. then put stood up and put his legs on the desk, so I thought he wanted to go pacing around.
I just put him on the floor to see if he can walk and he is.
now he is a little better, a lot less shaking. but still seems anxious, uncomfortable, still shaking. the vet said I should get a blood test, now I am!!! tomorrow I have him cell # for super emergencys but don't know if this is one. my other dog take phenobarb, and no problems since. I feel like giving him a half a pill. could that hurt him? or worse? he's still shiveriver a little 20 minutes later. he does shiver very little normally sometimes if it's cool.

its definately not parvo, so dont listen to those people who are telling u that because parvo infects the liver and this is definately not a liver problem, so dont go putting your dog to sleep. Firstly you should not give a dog a pill that is not been prescribed to him, just like people. Um, you said that you took him to the vet and the doctor said that it could be something small right? You might want to call him up and tell him the symptoms that your dog is facing right now and see what the vet says. You never know exaclty what could be effecting your dog in that manner. And just a little side note, if a dog gets parvo it might eventually need to be put down, but i have a friend who found a puppy on the street with parvo a saved its life, which is a very extreme case, so dont always jump to conclusions about things, and dont worry your puppy should be fine. Your welcome.

That could be a seizure. Write down the symptoms and times that you see them and take them to the vet. It is surprising how fast you can forget useful details when you're worried. The only dog I have had with seizures was a cocker spaniel. He had a stroke first, at just five years old. He had fits that threw him over thrashing. It was scary. He never took meds for that specifically. I gave him a fish oil pill every day and after a year or two he got better. I also gave him some human food with his dog food.
Have you seen the recall notice on the dog food? There were many brands.

One of the things I found strange in this recall is that some of the protein is wheat gluten which is difficult for many people to digest, and even harder on dogs. They can't digest it. It there just in case you have bought some of it. It causes kidney and neurological problems.
Just go tho the vet and get it diagnosed. You don't want to make him worse accidentally by giving medicine he may not need. I hope he's better soon!

If he seems to be getting worse I suggest you take him to the emergency vet. I know it seems like a stretch but from my opinion you're vet isn't doing much to help you!
I agree about writing the symptoms down for later usage! It might just come in handy!
P.s. NO IT'S NOT PARVO! To me, it sounds like a stroke-seizure problems, definitely not parvo virus.
Good luck with you're doggy. Hope everything goes well! :)

call the vet...there is usually an emergency number. they may be able to talk you thru this over the phone. You will need to have your dog examined in the morning. speak with them first before you give any phenobarb.

don't give your dog any meds off the prescription as you are supposed to. If he told you to give a phenabarb regularly do it but that is a medication that has to build up in your system it won't relieve him quickly. It could harm the dog rather than help. call the doc and ask him why worry about it all night? the poor dog could die/ dogs with siezures don't usually do very well.sorry to tell you this.

Has he been throwing up? If so - sadly this sound like parvo and he needs to be put down. If not - then you need to find a different vet or research this stuff on the internet.
