Very much. I don't think I ever make a sandwich with at least those two ingredients.

It is an okay combination. However there are bigger and better combinations. I am a purest at heart, but now allow the rebel in me to eat sandwiches. The condiment should complement the cheese, not overpower it. The bread also plays it's part in the sandwich too.

I could eat cheese on just about anything! Here are some other thoughts about cheese and mayo:
1. Cheese Salad Sandwiches: 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup mayonaise, 1 T sweet pickle relish, 1 T chopped green onion or chives, 1/4 tsp curry powder. Mix, chill and serve on dark bread!
2. Grilled Cheese: 1 slice provolone,1 slice yellow American,1slice baby swiss, 2 T mayonaise, 1/2 tsp yellow mustard, 1 tsp. dill relish. Mix mayo, mustard, and relish together and spread evenly on two slices of good whole grain bread. Top with cheese. Spread each slice with a good margarine and put in skillet. When both sides are brown, cover for a moment to make sure cheese is melted in the middle. Serve immediately!
3. Velveeta Dreamwich: Four 1/2 inch slices Velveeta cheese, 1 sun-dried tomatoe in oil, 1/2 cup marinated artichoke hearts, 1/4 cup mayonaise, 2 T Italian Dressing
Using crusty sourdough rolls, slice lengthwise and take some of the inner bread out. Drizzle Italian Dressing on bread. Spread with mayonaise. Top with artichoke hearts, chopped sundried tomato, and slices of velveeta cheese. Place under broiler until cheese melts. Top with baby field greens and more dressing if desired.
