I can see that others have not taken into consideration what was going on at the time Paul wrote that. Understand that in that period of time, Jewish women and men were separated and not allowed to worship together.

Paul reformed that, allowing women and men in the same worship service, a very radical idea at that time. It was a good and fair idea, since everyone needed to know about Jesus, but it created a problem for the women, they didn't know what the heck Paul was talking about! They didn't know Jewish law as they were kept from learning it except those passages as pertains to a woman.

So they talked during church, asking their husbands what Paul meant. Paul was saying let the women be silent and ask their husbands at home about what it all meant.

Sounds more logical this way eh?

Women are not to have a part in Preaching or Teaching in the Church!

Who sinned first in the Garden, = Genesis 3

Who left the Natural Use first, = Romans 1

Who led the Entire Church into Fornication = Revelation 2:20

What are women to do about ministry = Titus 2:3-to-5

Pastor / Teacher in Ephesians 4:11 = is in the MALE VOICE [Greek]

Were any of the 12 Apostles, WOMEN? NOT!

By default, women are NOT foremost in the ministry.

Thanks, RR

p.s. They are equal in salvation, AND NOT IN LEADERSHIP!

In the 1800's rights of Women were not at all free and most not pertained to the bible.

Women could'nt congregate in the streets or have meetings much less talk to other Men if they were married.

The strict rules soon became borken by the belt of Woman rights that eventually borke up and the old system and edicate ways began to diminish as Women began to wear pant suits and Jeans...ect

So in the Church that is based on old ways that no longer hold water to the the new age of Women in America the true role models of business entreprneurs at their best.

At the time that was written, women didn't sit with the men during service. They weren't forbidden to talk among themselves, but they weren't to disrupt the service by yelling out across the room to their husbands.
It really is that simple.

It means that Christian women are not allowed to be preachers/pastors, are not allowed to teach lessons/sermons, and are not allowed to lead other people in prayer.
