I can only speak for the Catholic Church. In my congregation which is Franciscan, the priests live a communal life. That means they share everything including their clothes. They get some kind of allowance and that's all. They are able to live this kind of life through the support of parishioners.
Grace and peace!

A pastor preaches God's word.Visits the sick.Counsels troubled marriages or anyone that needs help.some actually drive the church bus and picks up children for church. The church decides on the salary. Some get more than others depending on how much the congregation agrees
on.He also conducts business meetings on where the money goes to pay on the bills for the church.
It is always taken by a vote by the members of the church.

Pastors are worth their weight in gold if they are doing what they
are gifted to do. The Scriptures are to be studied in depth
for hours each day. Then they are to bring it to the church the
teaching the Lord has given them. They should not be visiting
and doing pot-luck dinners, that's the deacons job. There
should be a board of deacons that meet with him and they
would pay his salary and expenses. People think Pastors
have it easy, they stand before the Lord and get double judgment on how they taught God's flock. Double blessings,
double discipline. So, don't ever judge a pastor, or the
double judgment will fall on you.

Most of them are on a salary, the amount being determined by church board members. Sadly, most pastors are grossly underpaid, as it is virtually impossible for most members to understand the rigourous duties of a pastor. It is a 24-7 job, which offers hardly any benefits or appreciation. The eternal rewards though, are too numerous to mention.

In the LDS (Mormon) faith, it is done purely voluntarily and the pastor does NOT get a cent of any tithings or anything..he has a regular job that provides his livelihood and the calling of pastor/bishop is no different than any other calling or assignment in the mormon church.
Stake Presidents are leaders of a region of congregations and also are working voluntarily as are those who have been delegated to assignments that support them.

They do so much more than preach on Sunday, Morning, and Sunday Eve. and most churches on Wed. night. They go to hospitals, preform marriage ceremonies, funeral services. Many go to the local jails and prisons to speak to the prisoners. Many have a radio ministry as well. They work very hard believe me. It takes a lot of dedication.,

True Christian ministers do secular work for their living. Just like the apostle Paul, who was never paid, but worked as a tentmaker.
Matthew 10:8 - "You received free, give free."

It all depends on how the individual church has it set up. A lot of churches have a set salary. Some have a % of the offering.
