Would there be more Christians if Christianity was a religion without a need for a Satan?

I can understand why the Jewish people needed a Satan. They had to have the Devil so there could be some one worse than their God. But why did Christions have to bring him over into Christianity.

No, because as you say the god of the OT was bad enough. I think there would be more Christians if Christianity had been a separate religion with no ties to Judaism.
