Don't know about Canada and don't know about pay but I know it's good in US. Also some hospitals will help pay towards your degree if you agree to work for them for a certain amount of time after graduating. Some let you work at the hospital in some capacity while you are going to school. Nurses are in high demand in US. and once you get that RN. you can just about write your own ticket, so to speak.

First of all, I thank you for working toward a nursing degree. We desperately need you. I don't know about Canada but in the Midwest here in states nurses get paid VERY well and can pretty well write their own ticket. Career paths are wide open and this trend is expected to continue with all the baby boomers in middle and old age;the need for nurses will continue to grow. Good Luck.

here in the US, there is a huge demand for nurses, aids and anyone in the health field, so no worrys about not finding work. the pay depends upon the place you work and if you specialize in anything. 30k, 40k, 60k per year.
i dont know about there, but here in the US they also have scholarships to pay for nursing school.... so maybe there are some there as well.
but, i will post what i have, and maybe it will help. look for the links that say nursing in it...

I would say the United States pays nurses pretty well and if you're a nurse with a speciality at least ones you rotate on and if you work agency you can make good money. If you are planning to reside in the United States I can recommend and refer you to a nursing agency you can apply with.

My sister-in-law works in Ontario as a nurse and is a recent graduate. She makes about $35K at present, but has the opportunity as she gets more seniority and more experience, to make upwards of $60K annually. Good luck with your career and I hope you are able to stay in Canada. :) Cheers, L

there is a real need for nurses in Florida, you can go into any hospital and ask for your pay and they are so in need they will give it to you (18-30 dollars an hour!)

Prognosis: As long as there are sick or dying people in the world, there will always be a need for nurses.
