Depends how you want it cooked? It is no different to boiling a hen's egg. I should know - have eaten plenty in my lifetime - prefer them - much more flavour - delicious! Seriously, just boil according to whether you want a soft boiled egg (3-4 minutes in boiling water) or a soft/firm set (4-5 mins) or firm set (6-7 mins).

The whites are super if you are making meringues or a soufflé - as the volume is greater when whipped than chicken's eggs.

Enjoy!!

P.S> Don't believe all the old wives tales - just because someone died after eating one (!?!?!) forevermore people think that eating them FULL STOP is a danger to your health.
As I said before, I've eaten hundreds soft boiled (like me lol) and never had a days illness. So ignore all the doom and gloom merchants!

How long to boil a duck egg?

To hard-cook duck eggs, place them in a pot, cover them with cold water, and bring to a boil over high heat. As soon as the water boils, remove the pot from the heat and let stand 12 minutes for large eggs. (Medium eggs should sit a minute less, jumbos a minute more.) Drain the eggs and shake the pan vigorously to crack the shells; this lets them cool faster and prevents overcooking. Cover with cold water (I add a few ice cubes) and let cool. Once cool, you can peel them. If you don't eat them immediately, store them in a bowl in the refrigerator, covered with water.

duck eggs can make you very ill if not hard boiled and need a minimum of 10 mins to ensure they are cooked properly.

Longer than chicken eggs - between 12-15mins appears the norm.
