my old man has it an theres a 50/50 chance i could get it,this most certainly sucks.

I'm sorry to hear that your father has Huntington's disease.

I do know about the 50/50 chance of offspring also developing the condition, but what I would say is that there's also a 50/50 chance that you won't develop it.

My advice to you would be to read up as much as you can now, just in case you do develop it. This will give you a clearer understanding of how it could affect you.

The following sites are pretty good at explaining the condition, how it's diagnosed, what treatments are available, etc., without going too in-depth as to make it hard to follow.

I pray that you are lucky in not developing the condition, and I also pray that your father doesn't suffer the more severe ravages of the disease.

My cousins husband was diagnosed with that about 25 years ago. He is doing great. It is not without hope...We cant live on what if's or odds.
