Regardless of so-called 'Christian' doctrine, the Bible itself is scientifically accurate. So are the actual beliefs of real Christians. (Claiming to be Christian is easy, but most who do bely their claim by their life course.)

The Bible itself makes perfect sense. Many who claim to follow it have given it the appearance of being unscientific by insisting on things like the length of the creative days having to be a mere 24 hours each, when the Bible clearly uses the word 'day' in several other contexts that denote much longer periods of time. It is such 'logic' that is faulty, not the Bible, or its Author!

It seems to me, you are really seeking the truth. This is what happened to me, and how I came to believe: my bro. Larry was killed in a car accident many years ago. He was only 16. He was driving to school and a car hit him head on. He wasn't speeding. I was raised in the Jewish religion(Reform). I wondered what happened to him. Deep down, I knew he went somewhere else; I just didn't know where. Soon after my step bro. got saved. Then my step father; then my mom(all Jews). I saw how my mom and step father's lives changed. No more drinking to excess, no more fighting and arguing. They would read their Bibles and go to Christian meetings. They would always invite me, but I wasn't interested. After eight mo. of them asking, I went. This man was there and he kept saying I should get saved. To make him shut up, I said that prayer called the Sinner's Prayer, where one admits to being a sinner, asks God for forgiveness of sins and asks the Lord Jesus Christ into his her heart. I felt different from that day on. That was in 1970 . I am so thankful to be able to say I am a Born Again Christian. I read the Bible; it's real, every word of it. I pray by faith and believe Him for answers to prayer. I had moved with my husband to a new city about 200 miles away. I prayed for six months and now I am in the city I was in In Orange Co. Ca. He is not here. I hope this helps you. Just pray and say, "God, if you are real, send someone to talk to me about You." If you are sincere, it will happen..

Forget the people and focus on the God...

Denominations were created to further seperate the body of Christ.

All that matters is that you accept Christ, that you beleive that He is the son of God. Confess your sins to Him. Have faith in Him although He can't be seen. Follow the commandments and be open to accept/ respect Him for He is...

Doctrines and Denomination are not the issue, Jesus Christ is the issue. He makes it plain what it means to be Christian and what you wear, how many times a week you go to church, how many times a day you pray, yada yada yada, is not apart of his instruction... its all about relationship!

I'm sorry that you are so blind that you think science has all the answers instead of God. You should read through some more of the prophecies and warnings about the end times and count how many of them your beliefs are helping to fulfill.

May God Bless you.

So you're trying to do away with the freedom to believe as you want. Why should we be forced into believing what you say, and the whole country run on the basis of what you believe? Who says you are right? You? I do not agree with what you believe but I will fight for your right to believe it. Why don't you show us the same courtesy?

Edit: Why are you so deceitful? This has nothing to do with Christian doctrine.

I'm not sure this is a question so much as a rant. I will just throw my thoughts out there.

I don't try to be in anyone's way, but I try to be where my Lord wants me to be. I don't always succeed. And sometimes that means I'm standing against someone in order to be right with my Lord. And sometimes that means I'm speaking out against something in order to be right with my Lord. Christ is my role model, and Christ was the ultimate rebel.

But what He rebelled against was sin. Sin is so deeply ingrained in us, that its sometimes hard to seperate ourselves from it. I crave chocolate and I crave sex and I crave money, just the same as everyone else, but I know, not just from being told by my parents, and not just from being told by a preacher that giving into those cravings leads me to pain. The pleasure is fleeting. It the wrapper, the packaging.

The long term results of living in sin is that emptiness so many people feel inside, that I used to feel inside. That hollowness of heart, total lack of character, or sense of self, that inspires people to spend money when they really can't afford to, or seek out a night of meaningless sex when all they really want is for someone to care enough to let them cry on their shoulder.

I realize I'm not talking about a lot of doctrine here, but then, your statement doesn't really mention a whole lot of doctrine, either. All I can say is that salvation is not something that is done with the mind, rather it is something that is done to the heart by the Lord. When that light of Truth flares in the darkness of the heart, it hurts. It hurts so much to see how horrid one's own sins are, and how horrid one is because of them. And before that happened, the Bible didn't make any sense to me, either, but now, the Bible is something I really can't read enough in, study enough in, learn enough from.

And that emptiness...its gone. Oh I still hurt. I still feel pain, and I still sin, but the joy I feel from loving and serving the Lord is indescribable. All I can do is pray one day you will experience it for yourself. Because the doctrine isn't something to be worked out like a problem in the mind. Rather, it is something to be experienced in the heart due to the salvation provided by Jesus Christ, our precious Emmanuel,

People believe all sorts of weird things, astrology, palmistry, ghosts and so forth and those are just the mainstream ones. Humanity is wired up to be credulous, its takes guts and intellect to stand outside the world of superstition.
