I agree that most people from CT are nutmeger's but the people living in Fairfield County, (A.K.A. "The Gold Coast)call themselves "From the NYC Area" because they are so close the to city. (40 minutes by car 1, hr by train) Those rich people from Farifield county get a pissy if you call them "nutmeger's" or "Yankees".

HOWEVER, those of us who actually live in MANHATTEN (Not, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island or even N.J. or Long Island) are the REAL New Yorkers. Everyone else we call "Bridge and Tunnel" including the people from Connecticut. (we call them that because those people who are not in the island of Manhatten, have to take a bridge or a tunnel to get to the island of Manhatten, hence "Bridge and Tunnel" or "B&T")

So to answer you question they are called 3 things: "Bridge and Tunnel" "Yankees" or "Nutmegers"

People from NY are called New Yorkers, not new yorkers.

But even if they weren't, it would have no affect on what people from CT are called, which is Nutmeggars.

quite any opposite direction around. The definition of "Yankees" is a close-by or inhabitant of a northern U.S. state, noticeably a Union soldier for the period of the Civil conflict. the unique call of the "ny Yankees" replaced into the "Baltimore Orioles". In 1903 the gang moved to NYC and altered the call to the "manhattan Highlanders". In 1913 the call replaced into formally replaced from the "manhattan Highlanders" to the "manhattan Yankees" because of the fact activities writers might call the "manhattan Highlanders" "Yankees" as a nickname because of the fact they performed in the north east and to shorten the call from manhattan Highlanders, and the call in basic terms caught.
