is there any way i can download the software on windows xp?

Download the software. Go to windows explorer and find the exe file for the program. Right click that file and go to "properties", then to "Compatability" . You can select "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and select "windows 98".

You can try to install it on XP and see if it runs. Otherwise, you can right click on the program icon and then click on properties.
Then click on the compatibility tab and change the comp ability mode to Windows 98. If you don't want to go that far, try going online to the camera maker's website and see if there are any updated drivers for the camera.
