I have a gemini symbol tattooed on my inner wrist, so you could get your star sign. And by the way, it was over within 5 minutes, and it didn't hurt at all.

I think that you should go with what you have in your heart. You really don't want us to tell you what to get because it is not what you really want. Go with your instincts/gut feeling, that way you know you will like it because it is going to be with you forever. I have the same problem I want to get a wrist and neck tattoo, but I don't know what to get. I am just going to let the inspiration come to me. Also I like both of your ideas, i think the swallow is a more original idea though. Hope this helps.

I suggest going to the tattoo parlor where you want to get it done and talk to one of the apprentices or one of the tattoo artists and tell them what you would like, and have them draw something JUST for you. I think there is alot to be said for a unique tattoo, especially one on a place where it is going to be displayed regularly. From there, once you and the artist have a finalized design, make an appointment to have it done if you can't have it done right on that day. It is smart to book an appointment in a GOOD parlor.

i was thinking of getting a tattoo on my wrist as well, except it will be my second. i think your idea is pretty cool. and if you want it to be your original work, you could draw whatever your going to put there.

Tattoos are REALLY tacky...when I think of tattoos, I think of an American Flag tattoo from Old Navy that i had on my hand when I was 5 during the 4th of July (that later washed off in the pool).
Plus, you can NEVER hide a tattoo on your wrist (unless you PLAN on wearing long sleeves for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.)
And what happens when You're 85 and have a swallow on your wrist and you're grandchildren think you're KuKu! Or worse, they want to get one because "GRANNY HAS A TATTOO".
Or what if you have to go to a Fancy Party? With people you're TRYING to impress? think about that. Because if you decide to try and hide it with makeup, what if you have to wash your hands or some little niece or nephew pulls on your wrist and streaks it into your hand? THINK about THAT.

I wouldn't get it on your wrist. You'll surely regret that later! I would get it on your hip or lower abs instead. Do something other than a rose or a heart, as those are too popular. Violet, sunshine, clover?

My wife has a tattoo of a thunderbird on her wrist. My taste would be for something simple, like an important date or something in binary code.

My aunt got a weird band around her wrist. It was cool. I can't really explain it though.
