I want to install the fax component on to my Windows XP, but the problem is I don't have the disk.. I tried to see if I could maybe download the software online, but i'm having a hard time with it, anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do??? :O(

You could try control panel | add and remove windows components | fax. If there is no i386 folder on your hard drive, you'll fail at this point and you'll have to borrow someone elses disk. Failing that, you'll have to buy and install a 3rd party application, such as winfax pro.

If your windowsXP was installed by an experienced person, the disk should have been transferred to a folder called i386 on your Hard Drive. Try to install the FAX component and when it wants you to install the winXP disk, try directing the install program to c:\i386.

Sadly, I do not believe there is a legal download source for this windows component, but the good news is anyone who has a MS disk can lend it to you so you can install this component. You don't have to use the one you got with your computer. Good luck!

go to the microsoft or tucows........or google and ask for the microsoft fax...............make the download and install....................done very easy................
