I have tried it. It is pretty good. I got mine at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. I think it would be a good snack for your party but it is alot more expensive than regular ice cream. It has it's benefits though - it doesn't have to be kept in the freezer.

It would definately make a different type of snack for a B-day party! The kids would get a big kick out of it once they find out it's what the astronauts eat! I liked it. It's very much like the dinnermints you can get that melt in your mouth? Much the same texture, but ice-cream flavored! I just can't imagine where you'd get it big enough quantities; I've only seen it at planetariums & there, it was in small puches at a pretty lofty price, but hey, if you have connections to get it in bulk & at a good price, I say go for it!

Yes and kids love it! And if you want to use it for a party you might want to do a whole "space" theme. Do Styrofoam planets to hang from the ceiling, make a cake or order one that is a sphere or half sphere and decorate like a moon, depending on the age get foam door hangers and foam space theme stickers and put each child's name on them - go to Michael's or ant craft store - you can really make a spacial and unique party.

Its definately something different. Kids like it for that reason and since it's "space" ice cream its going to be that much more expensive. It's like boiling a potato then serving saying its baked so you can charge an extra dollar.
Anyway, if you can pony to dough, then go for it.
