Infant baptism was debated century's ago by the (Ana- Baptist) and it was declared by many that an infant cannot make a conscious commitment to accept Christ's free gift of salvation. Baby dedication is preferred by intelligent men and women who have committed themselves along with other family members to nurture that child until he or she is old enough to make their own personal conscious commitment. Holy water can be tap water if it at has been set aside for a holy dedication. If the heart to the person being baptized is not dedicated to holiness well what significance is the water. Or maybe you may want to make a trip to Israel to acquire some water from the Jordon River. Do not waste the trip get it out of the tap. It's not the water that is holy it is obeying the sacrament that count's with a sincere heart.

Actually, not all Christians believe in baby baptism. The custom started, as I understand it, when people became afraid babies would died before they could know God and be denied heaven. At the time one could not be sure if their child would live until around the age of 2.
Today, many denominations and groups believe one should not be baptized until they have accepted Jesus. It is a symbol of changing your life and being renewed.

In my religion we believe that total immersion at the age of eight is the proper way of baptism. We believe in total immersion because that is the way Christ did it .We also believe that at eight years old we should be able to chose if we want to be baptized or not.

God created all things and anything can be made holy through the grace of God.
The only thing that is inappropriate to bless is a Bible because being the Word of God, it is already holy.
