Most of us do not like it when we receive such treatment. Why do so many of us of all beliefs do it so often then? An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind. How will we ever be able to understand different people in this way? Is it really good? Peace be with you all

I think it is a way for hurt and angry people to strike out...they feel a need to cause hurt to others, as a way to try to make their own hurt feel better.
It never really works, that's why they have to come back and do it over and over and over again.
It's really very sad, I think.

I was raised Catholic. For some reason, the single most judgemental people I've met are Christians..especially the finamentalists.
I really think that those who say praying is the way to solve all the problems. I don't think so. You've got to be pro-active. If praying to whoever or whatever floats your boat helps, then fine...we all need peace of mind.
But I don't understand those who condemn other races, creeds, nationalities or sexual orientation because they don't believe as the evengelicals.
What if we find out one day that the bible was written by man as a way of appeasing generations to come to keep us all acting appropriately. If we instill fear...that by committing horrific acts...robbing, murdering, etc, hell and eternal damnation will be the price to paym, we can keep people in line. What if it's one big scare tactic?
What would happen? The ultimate means of control??

Most truly spiritual people understand that the forms of their religions are merely imperfect tools by which they can attempt to understand something that--if it exists--exists beyond the ability and scope of human comprehension. Sadly, there are those (and we all know who they are) that believe that their particular religious forms represent an absolute and infallible understanding of Truth. They use these forms and their beliefs about them as justification for all sorts of atrocities, cruelties and injustices. When people pervert and distort their "beliefs" in this way, when they use their religion as a weapon, I most certainly and eagerly attack said beliefs. I see this less as an infringement upon the rights of another and more as an effort to disarm a madman.

No, as a gay christian, I recognize that we live in a diverse country. The Christians don't like it when their belief system is attacked. But, Christians want to attack everyone else's. It is hypocritical... which the bible says we aren't to be.
I try to live my life like this. If that were me, if I shared those beliefs, if I had that upbringing, how would I feel if someone said that to me. My neighbor is myself. If I was Muslim, I would not want people to be attacking me and criticizing me. If I were a child molester, would I want forgiveness? If I were an atheist, would I want someone constantly telling me I am going to hell for my belief? To me that is cruel, unloving, unaccepting and unneighborly.
To me, the answers are clear. God sent the Holy Spirit (our conscience) as a gift to ALL of us to guide us. Let the Holy Spirit have room and acceptance to do his work, whatever He feels that might be.

This continues to happen because some people DO like attacking others; causing them pain mentally (because the police get involved when it's physical). Thank you 'Athiest Eye Candy' and 'Chesirecat' for making my point so easy to observe.
Jesus said we should treat others as we wish to be treated. And that is reason, alone, for those who wish to hurt others to do so. Their hate of God, others enjoying life, even their hatred of themselves.
I wish it weren't so. I can't stop it, but I can share an observation: It's been my experience that lies, anger, and hate which leads to violence come from the same source. And it always, always, always begins with a lie.
I know many men with whom I disagree but we are friends because we recognize both of us are honest. I have no friends among those who lie.

It is not good to attack others' beliefs. What is good is to have intelligent conversations discussing different beliefs. What I believe is that God made the world, men sinned, Jesus came and paid the way to heaven for us, and now we can once again have unity with God. If you don't believe that, that's fine, but I believe that you'll go to hell for it. I'm not going to attack you and try and force you to change what you believe. I'm just going to warn you of what will happen when you die if you haven't put your trust in Jesus Christ. If I do not warn you, then I have failed to do my job. I'm not attacking you, I'm warning you. Please heed my warning, because once you die, you will not have a second chance. You need the make the decision to give your life to Jesus NOW.
Please check out the website below, it will give you lots of great information. You can also email me.

I don't think it does anybody any good when false beliefs go unchallenged. I can't imagine why people would think it is better to believe in a falsehood that change one's belief. To me if someone shows me that I hold a false belief they are doing me a huge service.

I am a Catholic/Christian and I had to open up a new account because someone was attacking me and reporting all my questions and answers and I have never answered questions with hate but love, we share the same God and believe in the same things, so why attack, why judge, love and peace in the answer

To answer that one would have to come up with a list of excuses so long it would probably out weigh the world. If we could all apply the Golden Rule in everything we do and say it wouldn't be an issue.

I think it is an issue of Pride. We discredit others, so that we seem "better" than them. There is no way, if we dont respect others beliefs, that this world will be peaceful. Unless there is a threat to our safety, beliefs should be respected.
