Well personally I believe that is too important of a question to leave to personal opinion. Personally I believe what the Bible says Romans chapter 10 vs. 9 and 10. That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as lord and believe in your heart that God raised in from the dead you shall be saved.

I am a Christian, so my response is based upon my beliefs which come form my understanding of the scriptures.....
The bible states, no one comes to the Father (Who art in heaven....) but through the Son...
Well that means, I believe, that first you need to know who the Son is, believe He was/is real and accept his teachings and what He did.
He did it all. He lived, taught, died and was raised from the dead....for you!
You need to believe this and accept it. That's what 'faith' is, believing in things not seen. When you leave a room and shut off the lights, do you go back in to make sure they went off?
So it is with Jesus. You simply believe and accept it.
If you do this then you get to go to heaven....but you can't switch channels....you need to try and live a better life until you get there....

Admit that you are a sinner ("...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23).
Believe that Jesus Christ rose from death.
Call upon the name of the Lord ("...if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" Romans 10:9).

faith, and faith alone will get you into heaven
what is faith you may ask?
Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"
if you believe in him you will have everlasting life(heaven)
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
to believe is to have faith
Titus 1:2
"a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time"
God made a promise that all who have faith and believe that Jesus is Lord will not perish but spend eternity with him in heaven.

My personal opinion is as worthless as everyone else's, because no man can know this unless God Himself, the Final Judge, should disclose it.
I believe He has disclosed it, in the New Testament; and I believe He has even summed up what is absolutely essential in the following Scripture:
"Truly, truly I (Jesus) say to you, he who hears My word, and believes in Him who sent Me (that is, God the Father), has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death, into life."
(John 5:24)

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Go to church, pray EVERY night for forgiveness, thank God for everything, say their health, or family, or shelter. Be a good person to everyone else, even your enemies.
