i was given amitripline for fibro and it worked ok but when i got pregnant they made me go off of it. and i have never been a depressed person but i was then. now that i have had the baby(2 years ago) they told me i could go back on it. but i cant take something that makes me feel so bad, i want more kids. the pain i go through is horriable and everyday. they tell me other than what i was taking there is nothing else that they can give me. should i go and see another doctor or a pain managment specialist? my doctor doesnt think so, he said it wont help, that i wont take the one thing that will work. what can i do? i hurt so bad, i cant work full time for 1 eight hour shift it takes me days to get over and i feel like i live on tylonel. please help me

Start new. Keep a journal by using a spreadsheet as the first page. The left-side column is for the date/day-of-week/time.
Across the top are your signs/symptoms, and be specific
on where the pain is, as pain is your primary symptom.
Use another column for each pain location. Rate from 1-10 for pain and give exact measurements for other data. Accounting paper in booklet form is a good choice so you can keep your columns going from left page to right page, and you can take the booklet with you...when you ask for a new diagnosis.

I do not have fibro, but i do have RA... come check ou the forum for fibro, ra and other stuff at 4ratalk.com. There are lots of people on the forum tht have fibro and they can give you a run down of their meds and how they cope...

Of course you should see a pain mangement specialist. I don't know why your doctor told you not to go? There are many things that can try besides drugs.

yoga, pilates, ect really helps with the pain management, along with drinking alot of water and taking efas
