In other words, does the volume of food eaten cause the digestive system's efficiency to decrease?

For example, if you eat a chocolate bar on an empty stomach, but then eat a whole box of frosted mini wheats, will less of the fat, calories, and nutrients of the chocolate bar be absorbed because the fiber is pushing through your digestive system?

Yes, it does, your body's digestive system only has enough stomach acid to do so much properly at once..

Ouch! That's like following a chocolate bar with a laxative to purge the chocolate-a pointless exercise because the chocolate would have already been digested, at least partially, before the frosted mini wheats hit the system. You'd only be adding the extra calories of the mini wheats...

I believe that it does have an effect. If the mini wheats contain enough fiber, that will interfere with fat absorption. However, the carbohydrates from the mini wheats may more than overcome the calories from the fat in the chocolate bar.

I have a dog in Vietnam that has always been fed on people foods since he was a puppy, and she is still healthy and smart at 15 years old now.. Almost everyone in Asia only feeds human foods to dogs since there are no dog foods in there. It's a myth that dogs can't evolve and digest human foods and that meaty human foods are less healthy for dogs than dog foods. You just need to cook it right for dogs, not to add seasonings, not too much salt, fat, sugar, or flavors, basically meat, rice, potatoes, fruits and veggies are good for dogs. Dog foods can have preservatives and other ingredients that cause cancer and hurt dogs health in the long term.
