Matthew chapter 24:12, "Because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off."

In addition to Jesus’ words, the apostle Paul gave a detailed social profile, as it were, of “the last days.” He wrote that people would be “lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5 - In many lands those traits have become very common.

Today’s lack of love, therefore, is part of the evidence that we are living in the last days of this world. Happily, it also means that this world of ungodly people will soon be replaced by a righteous new world ruled by love.—Matthew 24:3-14; 2 Peter 3:7, 13.

A LAWYER had just said that to enjoy “everlasting life,” we must love God wholeheartedly and love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus commended the lawyer and told him: “You answered correctly; ‘keep on doing this and you will get life.’ ” (Luke 10:25-28; Leviticus 19:18; Deuteronomy 6:5 - But the man, wanting to prove himself righteous, asked: “Who really is my neighbor?”

Jesus told his followers that they would be recognized by a love that transcends racial, national, and all other boundaries. He said: “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” Then he added: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”—John 13:34, 35; 15:12, 13.

A professor of political science evidently pondered that question. So he asked, as recorded in 'The Christian Century': “Can anyone seriously conceive of Jesus hurling hand grenades at his enemies, using a machine gun, manipulating a flamethrower, dropping nuclear bombs or launching an Inter Continental B Missile which would kill or cripple thousands of mothers and children?”

In answer, the professor said: “The question is so absurd that it scarcely merits an answer.” So he posed the question: “If Jesus could not do this and be true to his character, then how can we do it and be true to him?” We should not be surprised, therefore, by the position of neutrality taken by Jesus’ early followers, which is well documented by many history books, but which limits do not permit here.

It means that Jehovah’s Witnesses allow nothing—neither race, nationality, nor ethnic background—to cause them to hate their neighbors. Nor will they kill anyone, for they have figuratively beaten their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears, as the Bible foretold true servants of God would.—Isaiah 2:4.

No wonder an editorial in California’s "Sacramento Union" noted: “Suffice it to say that if all the world lived by the creed of the Jehovah Witnesses there would be an end of bloodshed and hatred, and love would reign as king”! In the Italian church magazine "Andare alle genti", a Roman Catholic nun also wrote admiringly of the Witnesses: “They refuse any form of violence and without rebelling put up with the many trials inflicted on them because of their beliefs . . . How different the world would be if we all woke up one morning firmly decided not to take up arms again, whatever the cost or the reason, just like Jehovah’s Witnesses!”

In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ pointed to the time when all people will love one another. Introducing his remarks, Jesus quoted the 37th Psalm, saying: “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” That Bible psalm also describes how this marvelous situation will be realized, saying: “Evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.”—Matthew 5:5 - Psalms 37:9; American Standard Version.

“The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” (Psalm 37:29)

Love is love

It's simple really. Love is one of the attributes that God has shared with us when He created us.

Today, many people reject God. This mean they reject His love. Some say love and all other human emotion is just a chemical imbalance in the brain - something to be treated with drugs.

As this becomes the dominant view, more and more people abandon love as being real, let alone something good and healthy for us; that brings us together and provides us motivation to build communities.

No God, no love, no marriage, no family, no community, no happiness, increased hopelessness, increase crime, increase fear, and so on and so on.

So the choice is simple: choose God and love or abandon God and love. Your choice.

Judging from human history I would ask where has ever been the love? It is sad to see but man and nations constantly tries to find exterior meanings to life power, money, control instead of looking inside himself for love, compassion and mercy. These are the things regardless of nationality, religion or no religion, language, gender that are universal man's capacity to love and be empathetic. To bad more people don;t seek that out.

When you have a nation that has pretty much abandoned God and do as they please, you have a nation that has not the heart of God. ITs about self , period. getting what they want, doing what they want, and answering to noone. When this nation deceided it was ok to take prayer from schools, kill unborn babies, and put their stamp of approval on homosexuality, that started the final slide into the last days, of which God already foretold . And , we are doing just like He said we would do. Lovers of self, lovers of pleasure, waxing cold, all of it. no respect. nothing, but doing as I please and not giving a rip what it does to someone else. When a nation can ok killing unborn babies, that is a nation that does not value life and we will be judged accordingly. God slowly removes His blessings from this country, except to those that love Him enough to obey Him still.
Where did the love go? True Christian love??? Well, it has been going slowly over many years out the window, being replaced by love of SELF, and we do know the devil lis the one that pointed everyone in that direction.
If living in such sin , violence, and perversion, and all these drugs makes ppl happy, how come so many suicides today, so much hate and violence? You cant be happy as a nation apart from God. and we are being cursed as a nation. Its gonna get a lot worse, before Jesus comes. But, thanks to God, He protects His true ppl, that love Him enough to obey Him, and then Jesus will come to rapture US home that are His holy, obedient children, living lives of righteouesness, even in the face of persecution. But, we dont care what they think. We only care what God thinks, but we must love them, forgive them, and keep on praying... They have made their choices and have noone to blame but themselves when they receive their eternal punishment. Oh yes, lets keep praying for the lost. and forgiving them. But, lets not as Christians, ever be silenced as tho they are the only one with a voice. They freely speak, and we must hold on to our rights to do the same thing. True Christians wont roll over, play dead, and be silenced. We will alsays speak up about the gospel of Jesus. Come on Christians, lets see more of you speaking up on these sites. We dont have a spirit of fear. We have a spirit of HOPE. our Hope is in Jesus Christ.

Love is in your heart, love is in your mind and love is everywhere. Focus where love is and you will find it. Try loving yourself by know what real love is: loving yourself, doing what is good, helping others, helping the least of humanity. However you express love, remember that when love is received or given, there is always that special smile on the face. So, go ahead, find love, even in the tiny corners of your mind, your heart, or within the confines of your home.

You are right about all the evil people do. I have much love in my heart. I love the Father and I try to do what His will is for me. He gives me the capacity to be filled with love. I guess the people who can kill babies and other helpless individuals just don't have God in their hearts.

...I think it is indicative of the last days, observe 2 Timothy 3:1-5:
...1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.
...2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
...3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,
...4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
...5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
************************************************************
...As Christians we have a chance to live for God and show others the love of Christ in a dark, sinful world.
...I urge all to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Welcome to planet earth.

Where has the love gone? As savage as the world is today it's kinder and gentler than it was during most of human history. If you don't believe it read the Old Testament.
