Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. (Quran 2:62)

The verses that mention that muslims should fight against unbelievers or christians or jews talk about those who made muslims go from their homes and took their property and oppressed them. Since they should defend themselves against oppression this is what it permitted by God for them to do, IF THEY ARE ATTACKED IN THE FIRST PLACE. And as God is the most Merciful He clearly states in the Qur'an that those who have never oppressed muslims, they should respect them and show no hostility against them, and God loves the righteous ones. Amen.

Direct quotes for the Koran:-

"Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate"

"Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends"

Muslims are also encouraged in the Koran to fight against non-Muslims "until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued"

So much for the peaceful religion of Islam which many claim means "peace" but which actually means "submission". Muslims who convert to Christianity are punished by being put to death under Sharia Law and Christians in many predominantly Islamic countries are under frequent attack for their beliefs.

If violence is evil then a religion that preaches violence is also evil.

Islam recognizes all of the prophets from the old testament and the new - ......In fact, what the Quran says about Mary and Jesus is amazing .....It says that Jesus preached from his cradle and that Mary was chosen amongst women.....
As I understand it, Jews, Christians and Muslims are all peoples of the book and those who believe in God and the last day are believers.

The christians and Jews of today are NOT believers.

If they had been believers they would have accepted Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him)
