we were in the middle of this conversation (he was being rather flirty) and then i said something and he goes "my parents would like you"

erm, what? what does he mean? this was the first time we've talked and we've never even met before...

He's giving you a compliment, however you have to question it. He barely knows you and he's already saying that his parents would like you? I always question a guy that's already complimenting you on the first meeting.

He thinks his parents would like you. If this is the first time you met, why do you care so much?

It means that you r just the kind of girl that his parents would love to see with ..that's nice ..but "don't believe everything said, especially that kind of talk .."

He was 'complimenting you' and your 'conversation/ behavior'. It may mean that 'he likes you' and would like to talk with you again ... or it may be just a 'one shot compliment' ....
