Due to antibiotics and prednisone, I have developed ORAL thrush. My doctor prescribed lozenges but they make me vomit. Does anyone have any natural (or not natural) ways to cure this terrible condition? My doctor told me my only choices are the lozenges or the "swish and swallow" stuff. Thank you all so much!!

There is a pill called Diflucan, that cures vaginal yeast infections in one dose. Since thrush is an overgrowth of yeast in the mouth, I wonder if it could cure it too.

Yes, you can also get systemic antifungal medication, including Diflucan, Nystatin, etc. This should be an option if the other stuff won't work for you, but you need a prescription for it... so you really have to go back to your doctor and ask about this anyways!

You can try plain yogurt. If that doesn't work, you probably need a prescription from your doctor. Go to a natural food store. They may have an herbal suppliment as well.

Your doc is correct. The only way to cure it is with what he gave you or the swish and swallow stuff.

Go back to the doctor, get some real medicine for it .....If not it can come right back if u do get it to go away by itself.
