My roommate and I give our dog table scraps every once in awhile. I use to do it with my last dog and there was never any problems but then again, that was 10 years ago. I don't know if anything has changed that I shouldn't give my dog food. Anything anyone knows, I would love to know myself. Thanks!

Good human foods to give your dogs would be veggies and fruits if they'll eat them. I'd steer clear of anything high in salt, fat or fried foods. No chips and snacks.

Our dogs like yogurt and cottage cheese on occasion as well. Also a scrambled egg once in a while is appreciated.

Carrots, green beans, brussel sprouts and apples are my guys favorites.

Everything in moderation of course and no chocolate, onions, grapes or raisins.

Good:
1 Your dog will love you for it (but that's about it).

Bad:
1 The more you give it, the more they expect it. For example, we gave our dog tablefood for a while, and once we were getting in the car with a dessert going to a party. My dog managed to sneak it while we weren't looking, and when we noticed, the cake was half gone!

2 Some foods (chocolate, pork chops, to name a few) are harmful to dogs.

3 It is bad manners like if a guest comes over!

4 They can choke on a food if they don't know how to eat it.

If you are feeding a lower quality food, table scraps tend provide extra nutrition that is lacking in a dogs diet.

One vet really wondered why some dogs did so poorly and others seemed to be thriving especially heard they were fed foods like dog chow and ol'roy so he decide to survey the owners to find out if they fed extra's, and his finding were that the dogs that were thriving regularly recieved table scraps.

Some foods like yogurt can be very beneficial especially if a dog has recently been on antibiotics, as the antibiotic not only kills bad bacteria but good bacteria that aids in digestion. yogurt helps to replace the good bacteria in the gut.
just avoid really spicey foods, those that are toxic to dogs or high in sodium or sugar

Some good aspects is if it's good for the dog. Maybe bacon or ham or some sauce left over from a plate. Some bad aspects, would be candy or CHOCOLATE. Chocolate kills dogs. Good Luck!

The bad aspects are that he'll become accustomed to it and he'll not want to eat dog food anymore. The good aspects are you can see what it's allergic to.

most food are bad and most are good here they are

-meat (good)
-veg(not too good)
-peas(bad if too much)
-eggs(very bad)
-potatoes(bad)
-fizzy drinks(very very bad)

remember in the wild dogs only care about meat so thats all they really need. it gives them the vitemans they need
