he only seems to be sleeping, not eating or drinking. I have a pet health guarantee, and will be taking him to the vet tomorrow or tuesday to get him checked out.

I have a green cheek too. He will be a wonderful pet. Leave him alone tonight. Tomorrow sit next to the cage talking to him in a low voice, call him by his name. Do this a lot. If he is hand tamed and his wings are clipped open the cage door tomorrow. Let him come out if he wants to. Give him a chance to climb up on your finger if he comes out but don't push it.
Type green cheeked conure into your web browser and go to a site specifically about them for more information.
Make sure the base of his diet is a pellet formulation for small hookbills

I don't know much about birds, but my guest would be that since he's in new surroundings, he's a little scared. I have a terrier and when i first brought him home, he didn't go to the bathroom for over 24 hours, slept most of the time, and didn't really leave the living room floor next to the couch unless to go outside or to sleep in my room. it was about two days later when he started to go everywhere in the apartment, as well as pee everywhere too. if it's been awhile though, and the fact that i don't know much about birds, take him to the vet. they should be able to explain more. hope that helps.

You have to figure he's shell-shocked right now. Just relaxing and taking in the new surroundings. Give him a while to settle in and I'm sure he'll be eating, playing and hollering like normal.
A vet exam is definitely important to check his health but as long as he checks out healthy, I figure he's just trying to settle in. All my birds have taken a while to figure out their new surroundings once they first get home.
Good Luck!

He's probably not used to you or his surroundings yet. Give him some time. If still doesn't act like everything is okay then yes take him to the vet.

If he was with other birds and in a different cage he is probably wondering what happened. :)

he should start moving around if his cage is big enough. You can try taliking to him and stroke him through the cage bars. Make sure he knows where the food and water are .
