Let him talk 4 a while then comfort him and ask what u can do!! Then he can go tell them he's sorry!

Talk to him at the end of the day ..not just after that thing happened..try to push him to go apologize to the teacher..try to make it look easy ..coz he'll get no where by being stubborn..and just comfort him..
he surely did that for a reason ..talk to him ..and let him tell u what's wrong with him ..then he'll feel just alright after he spell it out ..
