Basically what I did is that I gave him a memory box with some stuff I put together for him. I also made him a really nice card with a heartfelt poem that I wrote. I made him a poem book with pictures I have taken as well. : } ♥

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.

It depends on how much you want to spend on him. For me, my 1 year anniversary. I'm getting my boyfriend a promise ring. In a past relationship she cheated on him. So I want to make a promise to him that since it has lasted this long, I want to vow my promise to him and show my love and commitment to him. Try to think of something like that. It's difficult to tell you what to get him because I don't know you two personally. but just think of something that is personal and work on that.

I got my g/f bowling shoes and a bowling ball for our 6-month anniversary 10 years ago - we're now happily married. A friend of mine did the same, and they broke up a week later. Your call :)

Every man should always have a nice dress watch. It's classy and he can keep it for as long as he wants. It's also something that he can wear in your future anniversaries. It has sentimental value and watches are timeless.
(No pun intended)

If you still a teen, invite him to the movies, and then Ice Cream. If you are in your twenties. A teddy bear and tickets to a football game! And if you are in your 30s. A day out to play pool. Or dine out. Congratulations! either way.

do something sweet and simple for him.
write him a little poem or a love letter.
usually, the guy is supposed to make the big effort at a time like that.

What does he like?
What does he wish he could get but can't afford?
What would tickle his fantasy?
What would make him love you more for being the amazing person you are? But, it needs to be something for him and not for you. You just reap the benefits.
