Cozy, I have 5 kids;31;28;26;24; and 14. The 31 yr old has a daughter of her own; got no recognition today of Mother's day; the 28 yrs old called in with her daughter and husband, with flowers and chocs; the 26 yr old's partner just gave birth Friday, so his thoughts are elsewhere; the 24 yrs old did not ring, text or do anything. the 14 yr old is still living at home; under pressure from my partner, he made me tea and toast this morning - I got a card from him all right; a recycled one that he simply wrote across. I felt hard done by all right; a phone call does not require much effort. Kind of crap for me too. I sat in the chair and refused to cook dinner; my partner made the dinner - just for me and him though! He told my 14 yr old - your mum doesn't ask for much; sort out your own dinner today. Had a glass or three of wine and feel a bit better. Your moment will come - probably sooner than you think. Allow yourself to lose the head with them over the next day or so; it doesn't matter what the reason is; and let them have it over today. A card wouldn't have killed them. cheers babes

my mothers day started with a cooked breakfast which was cold, my husband had the **** cos my youngest (5) didn't want to help, i was woken up and dragged up the bed to eat my breakfast, this put my back out!!! Ate what i could manage but then gave the rest to my 9 yr old who was salivating all over it, at this point my husband walked back into the room, and then stormed out again outraged that i couldn't eat a fat laden breakfast at that time of day.By now none of us were talking to each other and we still had a morning full of under 9's rugby to endure! When we got to rugby which incidentally was an 80 mile round trip in a little village up the arsehole of nowhere, started to pour with rain, however we did thrash the opposition and what became apparent was that none of the other mums and dads were talking to each other because they'd had similarly disastrous morning-hilarious!!!! Came home, went to bed for a kip for few hours, did wake up to nice roast dinner courtesy or marks and Spencer's, kids in bed now and man down the pub-bliss!!!!!

sorry to here that how nasty its only once a year you do so much for them all year round and don't get appreciated i would of gone mad at them both even a card was better than nothing (send them both to brat camp )on a better note my day was lovely i still cooked our Sunday roast as i didn't want it under cooked or burnt lol i have two boys 16 and 20 the oldest got me new slippers and a lovely card with a mum mug and the youngest got me a big box of milk tray and a card at teatime ii had to stay in the lounge and they bought in from the kitchen a lovely mothers day cake with candles for me it bought a tear to my eye so show this message to your kids and i hope the feel guilty At the end of the day they only get one mum and they should show her they care .

Mine was awful, but not cause of the kids. They were really great to me. tidied the house for me and gave me lots of cuddles. the bad thing was that my fiance of two years told me its over cause he can't handle life anymore. ha figure that. men can't seem to handle anything these days.
