Genesis 6:14-22
14 So make yourself an ark of cypress [c] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. [d] 16 Make a roof for it and finish [e] the ark to within 18 inches [f] of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. 17 I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them."
22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him.

The ark was built by Noah and Sons Construction Company. All the animals were on the ark and there were a male and female of each species. The original census of passengers has been misplaced temporarily so we aren't sure how many people. Good Luck and God Bless

Noah built it along with his wife, their three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their son's wives.
Despite spending years preaching and warning everyone of the coming Flood, those eight were the only humans to survive. The others "took no note."
Noah brought representatives of all the major species of animal with him, two each of unclean animals, and seven each of the clean ones.
And for everyone who answered who ridicules Noah's ability to get the animals onto the Ark, read Genesis 9:7 and remember who was helping him. God brought the animals TO Noah.

According to the Bible, Noah and his sons built the Ark. As to how many animals he could put in there, the exact number is unknown. It would be necessary to build a ship of the same size and "try" to put in there (somehow) two animals of the same species, leaving space for food and other supplies needed to feed those animals and at least 12 people.
A very pretty story, but obviously is not true that it ever happened.

Noah built the ark, took him 120 years. 8 people on the ark, two of every animal (male/female) that were on the earth at the time. There are clean and unclean pairs!!!
Where in the Bible does it state there were 30,000 to 50,000 different kinds of animals? Where is this found any where?

G'day JTSflopsy2006,
Thank you for your question.
Noah did if anyone did. My understanding is that it was he and his wife, his sons Ham, Shem and Japeth and their families. The human contingent on the ark was no more than 20.
There are millions of species of animal and there were supposedly two of them so you are talking about millions of species although the majority of them are not all that big. He didn't take any plants and you would wonder how they would survive being drowned for forty days and forty nights.
Regards

Noah and his sons built it. There were 8 people on it; Noah, his three sons, and their wives. There were 2 of each "kind" of animal - the exact number was not recorded.
Triforce: You only need 2 beetles to repopulate. Genetic drift and natural selection over the time since the flood is enough to create all of the different genotypes within the one species known as 'beetle'. The Bible refers to this as a "kind".
If you athiests really believe the Bible is nothing but mythology, why are you even on this site? Why not monitor the mythology site? Why do you hate so much that you won't allow those who disagree with you to even speak?

It was built overseas and then an American company sold it to him.....
Actually, Noah built it along with the help of his family which likely comprised a sizable bunch. In those days families stayed together. When a sibling married he/she generally stayed around, not much was known of the outside world and all shared in the family business such as raising livestock.
As for animals, two of each, male and female (for repopulation purposes) of every known species at the time.
People...his family members.

Noah built it, according to the design and specifications that God gave him. I think perhaps his sons helped him.
I can't tell you eactly how many animals there were. As to people, it was Noah and his wife, their sons and sons' wives. That is all that is mentioned. May have been a few children too.
