Social grooming is pack behavior. It's doggie "good manners" to help groom where a dog can't reach by itself.

Ear licking is normally a sign of affection. So they are being nice. My puppy always tries to lick my cats ears.

It's because they knew each other and also understand that they all belong to one person.And also they use that sign as play and love for each other
