It mean Holy. It is used to be a Christian term, just like holiday was also a Christian term for a holy day. The culture has just become so secular that it has forgotten parts of its Christian heritage.

Oh...and goodbye used to be "God be with you."

It means to hold as holy or sacred, to sanctify. The translation of the Bible I use says "Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified." (Matthew 6:9, NWT)

...Matthew 6:9 says, "Hallowed be Thy name."
...It means let Your name be kept holy, or let Your name be treated with reverence.

Holy, like "Holy be his name." It's just the Old English.
