i own a repair shop, and the KIA would hold its value better because of the ten year 100.000 mile warranty it has on it,when you think about it that's hard to beat,it covers almost everything on that car so i would have to say the KIA right now would sell better, good luck i hope this helps.

Hyundai and Kia are made by the same company, but Hyundai seems to be the one getting all of the glory from Consumer Reports and JD Power as one of the most reliable and well built cars in the world. So, I think Hyundai's resale values will rise faster then Kia, though both are improving each year. They have the same warranty from what I've heard.

Seriously. If you could avoid purchasing any of these brands, PLEASE DO! Their price and warranty sound attractive, but these cars are really no good and will not last. Trust me, I purchased a Hyundai Accent in 1998 and by 2002, it was on it's last leg. Very bad investment. I regretted it ever since. So many people have told me horror stories about Hyndais and Kias. BUT! If you really want to give it a chance, I would say Hyndai is the best of the 2 and should have a better resale value. It is older and more established, than Kia and has had many years to iron out the kinks. Maybe Hyndai has gotten better in recent years...I don't know. But everyone I know whose owned one, was not happy with the performance. good luck

Hyundai. It doesn't matter if the car is the same or not. That doesn't answer the question. Are Big 3 cars of lower quality because of low resale values? No! Quality does not imply high resale value alone, vice versa. Two similar cars do not always have similar resale values. Look at Pontiac Vibe vs Toyota Matrix or 2000 Chevrolet Prizm vs Toyota Corolla.
Use http://www.kbb.com and http://www.nadaguides.com to determine resale values.

they are the same basic car but the hyundai is a better built car and the kia is just a cheaper version so hense the resale value would be a lot less. i work as a hyundai mechanic at a dealership so i see it all the time and the kias are not worth a pinch ofshit.

Neither! Kia/Hyundai both are the same, although Hyundai is a better quality like Ford/Lincoln
