Are you feeling down? Irritable? Exhausted? Worthless? Bored and disappointed with life? We all feel this way from time to time, but if the feelings don't go away it might be more serious than just a bad day; it's important to recognize the symptoms of depression. Depression stems from a chemical imbaIance in the brain, and this won't go away on it's own. If you recognize these symptoms and have been feeling this way for two weeks or more, there's a good chance you're depressed, and an even better chance that you should do something about it.
Overcoming depression is a slow and careful process. Finding the right form of treatment, either medicinal or non-medicinal, is important. Here are a few manageable steps you can take to improve your lifestyle and fight depression.
Make time for yourself. Whether it's developing a creative outlet, getting together with friends, or just staying home to watch a movie, doing something you enjoy can go a long way in relieving stress and improving your state of mind.
Try something new. Breaking up your normal routine may be just the thing to spark your energy. Take a bike ride or go for a walk; go to a different restaurant for dinner; read the paper from front to back. Anything to interrupt the doldrums.
Exercise regularly. Exercise produces endorphins, which are the body's natural response to pain and stress and may be at especially low levels in people suffering from depression. So pick an activity that works for you and work it into your routine; start slowly and build up your strength.
Avoid alchohol. Alchohol is a depressant, so even if it makes you feel better at first, in the long run it will only make things worse. Instead, look for foods that boost your metabolism--like protein, spices, or green tea.
Talk to someone who can help. Your feelings will only grow stronger if you keep them inside, so finding a release is important. Talk to someone you trust: a friend, a family member, even a counselor. Chances are, they'll be able to help you in ways you didn't expect.
Depression Medication
If routine changes and exercise aren't helping, it may be time to visit a doctor and decide whether depression medication is right for you. Be prepared to describe your symptoms, including how long you've had them. Symptoms of depression include irritability, exhaustion, a sense of worthlessness or hopelessness, boredom and disappointment with your life. Ask your doctor for all the alternatives, from natural healing or counseling to antidepressants. If you do decide to take medication be sure to ask your doctor for the least mentally intrusive antidepressants possible.

Well for one thing see a doctor. You need to find something that can help you - There are a few drugs to help with depression. Maybe if you talked to someone too.
Also get plenty of rest. Try to do one thing for you a day that makes you happy.
Slow down in life and eliminate the things (you can) that may make you depressed.
I hope you feel better. Last year I was suffering anxiety attacks, not sleeping, and felt very "depressed" when I am normally "happy". I was on Zoloft about a year.
It helped (me sleep) which helped me feel rested and not as anxious. I quit my job (which was a lot of the issue).
Good Luck.

You can't really get rid of it. But i would start with finding a new hobby. And stop writing so much on the computer. Do physical activities with your friends. Set a goal for yourself to only stay on the computer for two hours then cut down every month. It could save you a few bucks on the electric bill!!! ;). Basically find something else to do, if you can't look at what movies are coming on, what events that sound kinda cool. Be out there instead of inside here.

Theres alot of ways,
When you start feeling bad just think of things that make you happy, or things your greatful for. Also another good thing to do is get a puppy or a different type of pet, seeing there loving loyal faces will for sure make you happy. Try a fun activity or pastime, meditating also helps you calm down and think clearly. Talk to someone close to you that you trust. Write everything you think and feel down so you can get it out of your head.
But if none of these things work see a doctor or a psychologist so they may help you. Whatever you do don't take anti-depressants, they really dont help you they just make you feel out of it and drugged up

It's as easy as that.
Engage urself in activities for which u have a liking for & try to do something innovative.
Always keep urself busy.
Do not remember things which depress u.
Divert ur mind immediately if it so happens.
Whatever bad as happened has happened for the best,so just forget it.
Remember all the good things which life has given u.

Find out your best friend and keep talking to him or her. Go and visit your friend if possible. Do not sit idle and away for long time. Find out some activities that keeps you busy and mix with people be it relative or friends for some time. Take a break from whatever you do now and travel a bit away from home with friends or relatives. Visit places you find interesting and spend time. That would keep your depression away. All the best.
