Truth be told if you do not believe in a God who put you where you are, you have no purpose to live for. So if it feels good why not do it? Life is more than just family, friends, party, sex, education, money, career, and bills. What are you thinking?

I believe people are misunderstanding me. I am not judging anyone, rather I am throwing out a thought that maybe life could be more than just the day to day issues that I had just explained. I am not living for the day I die, rather I want to live for the next world which will be eternal. Why is it that everytime a Christian aks a question, people get so aggressive. I can handle it just seems that people have buid a wall against anything Christians say. Maybe you should think about what it is that you live for. If you figure out that it does not really have any meaning except your everyday life which will only last for another 40-60 years (if that). What then?

Well, I'm not here to tell other people that they shouldn't be alive, or to put words in their mouths about their motivations.
This was a terribly ignorant and inhuman question. If this is your core religious value, you're on the wrong side.
================
Man, your explanation is even worse than your original question. It's even more narrow-minded, arrogant, and paranoid.
You really need to step back and look at yourself - you've got a real problem.

Since your question already contains the answer that you are seeking, I will assume that you aren't really interested in a dialogue, but rather wish to make a statement that people who do not believe in God have no purpose.
It seems to me that people spend a lot of time thinking of the hereafter, and not as much time thinking of the here-and-now. We can have heaven right here on earth if we attend to the needs of others, care for the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the poor, comfort the sad and downtrodden, and love others as we love ourselves.
Notice at no time do I mention God in this little view of heaven.

Just because you have been enlightened does not give you the right to judge others. If you were born 'enlightened' do you honestly believe God put you here just to point others short comings?
If you follow Jesus, for example, He proclaimed Love to be the most important commandment. He also warned about passing judgment.
God calls people from various walks of life and can utilize each to in turn reach out to others where they once were. You are one who clearly speaks from his head, not from his heart, much like all of us who are human in nature.
Some followers begin first by living precariously before they see the Light.
Remember, Saul began prosecuting Christians and putting them to death before he was called upon by the Lord.

I'm living for my LIFE, thank you very much. I LOVE my life. I love my family, I love my friends. I'm not just living my life looking forward to DYING.
So you're saying the only good thing about life is death? What are YOU thinking?
(You know, if there WAS a God, He would probably be pretty insulted that you have such a low opinion of the gift of life that He gave you.)

According to Greek philosophy - 'The unexamined life is not worth living'
I think that 'belief' is a very misunderstood word.
I prefer the notion of 'perception'.
What one perceives as real is to them....as in the quantum philosophy -'Perception equals reality'
Atheists may have a problem with traditional, religious terminology....God has been taught to most to be 'the supreme being' - however, perhaps if we deeply considered the notion of natural laws, we could perceive 'god' as being the ultimate natural law of natural laws.

Man! People here are mean.
O well.
I was asking myself that just the other day, not in terms of me, but other people. Like why would someone who is not a Christian give a dollar back to the person who just dropped it on the floor. What is their motivation if they live "guiltless".

that seems very selfish im athiest. but i live for the enjoyment of it i love life, the bible and other religious books are full of lies. religion is essentially to blame for most of the problems of the world. also we evolved into what we are. Gods not perfect as theyre volcanoes causing pain. hte bible says god created the earth then the light but the sun came before the earth as it is the pull of the sun which created the earth. i have so many reasons for there not being a god to list them all but i am living because it is all part of the circle of life your born you breed you die, we live to continure as a human race and just because you dont believe in god doesnt mean you cant live a good life

Life is about making it enjoyable for yourself, while making it enjoyable for others as well. God comes nowhere in there. That is the purpose in my life because if I do things just for my enjoyment, it will cause too many problems and it will have more suffering than enjoyment.

And so you created an account today, just to tell the atheist that life isn't worth living?
I'm sure you have homework or something to do on a Sunday rather than trying to think up questions designed to insult others.

I am not an atheist but I think your first assumption is not the truth, it is false. No one really knows how we are here, or why. Some of us have decided to dedicate ourselves to a cause, or identified a raison d'etre, but can we really be sure that's what God had in mind?
