Out of the 5 day workweek I:
go to the gym about 3 times a week for an hour workout on the tredmill (walking and jogging) and eliptical.
The other 2 days I take a one hour cardio class. I have seen an improvement in my legs but not in my stomach or obliques. What am I doing wrong? Or is there something I should be adding?
I also havent lost a pound and have been doing this since the end of Feb.

Thank you!

Hi there, in love!
I started a diet in mid/late January. My doctor was concerned bout my weight & I told him about my eating & excersize habits. I DONT excersize & eat 1-2 large meals a day, and usually later at night, before bed. He told me that Excersize is good; it helps you feel better emotionally, physically & strengthens your whole body...BUT, he tells me, I could run a mile right now & it would burn the equivilent of a bagel...thats it! A bagel! He said that my problem was my massive caloric intake; trust me, you dont realize how many calories you take in during a simple day until ya count them! OMG! I cut down to 1200 calories a day, increased my fiber, fruits, veggies & fluid intake & started curves 2 weeks ago. After almost 5 weeks, I'd already dropped 15 lbs.
I'm not claiming to be an expert, & we all have different bodies, so this may not work for you, but hey!? Whats to loose? Ask your doc! Check your own caloric intake, or see a nuritionalist. Oh! And continue to watch your inches! Your doing alot of excersize, which builds muscle, and muscle weighs MORE than fat, so if you're burning fat & building muscle, it may not seem that your losing weight at all, but it will show in your inches! Have patience, I'm sure you'll start to see it sooner or later! Just know that as long as you are doing SOMETHING, you are improving yourself!! Best of luck!

Have you changed your eating habits? Are you doing any kind of strength training or workouts to tone up your stomach?
It is best to do any strength training/situps/etc. before you do a cardio workout. You burn more calories this way.
It's also possible you've reached a plateau, I wouldn't increase the amount of time you workout.... maybe increase the speed on the treadmill as well as the incline. Or, try cycling or the elliptical for a while.
Your body will get comfortable with the amount of calories you burn and calories you take in over time, keep changing things up. It will also keep you from getting bored.

i cant really say right now what the problem is, id have to research more, but it looks like you've reached a plateau...
dont worry about it too much, most people dont realize they maintain a certain weight throughout their life (with fluctuations, around a sort of set-weight).. its a way the body deals with the weight it FEELS it needs, but obviously being women, we tend to feel we DONT need it!
you could try varied abdominal exercises to focus on the bits you want to tone up- but the main point is just be happy, cos that itself will have an impact on the way you feel and the way others perceive you.

Your doing too much cardio and no weights. Weight lifting builds muscle which burns more calories than fat. When I was just doing cardio I didn't lose any weight either but when I started lifting, the weight did start coming off. Also you have to eat less than 1200 calories a day to lose. Count calories and you will lose weight fast.
