Yes, people don't want to think there is a Perfect God. who will hold them responsible for their actions. If you notice in the news lately, everybody blames everyone else for their behavior.
As for the stone boxes they have found, in Jesus' time, his name was a common one. So whatever they found does not mean it is The Christ.

The boxes that have been found are NOT Jesus' bones, I am not sure why people think they are, Jesus was a common name back then, as it is fairly common now. Jesus wasn't just Jesus, it is Jesus Christ, and Christ isn't his last name either. People get so worked up at the possibilty of there being a mistake in the Bible, even though they will never find a real true mistake.

no, i simply choose to read anything, including the small print and any thing implied before i sign on the dotted line.
and i have chosen not to sign on that particular contract. it is too full of half truths and inconsistencies. and the violation clause sucks big time and is way too easy to infringe upon.

They have the mindset of W.C. Fields, who was caught reading the Bible once. When asked what he was doing, he replied, "Looking for loopholes..."

I think it is more to show that the book *is* fallible, and should not be used as a "Guide to Life" but as historical fiction.
If it were viewed in this way, those who use it to promote their agendas of hatred could be shown for what they really are: bigots.

I never signed that contract. And it isn't that. We just find the whole thing to be rather silly.

If you are going to devote your entire life and being to something, does it not behoove you to make absolutely certain of its validity?
