Sunglass frames as Eyeglasses?

Hi could you use Sunglasses frames as Eyeglasses frames?

If you're talking about the type of sunglasses that you buy in the drug store, then no. The material in the frame is inadequate to the job that you want it to do. It is very light weight and would most likely break while the technician was inserting the lenses.
Some very expensive sunglasses by designers are also not up to the task because the groove that the lenses sit in is not made deep enough for a prescription lens to be held firmly. There are a few designer sunglasses that have been made with prescription lenses considered as an option but you would have to check with your optician or optometrist to see if they felt the frame you like was suitable.

YES! My friend bought a pair of Oakley sunglasses and removed the tinted lenses and brought them to his optometrist and they made the lenses for the frames he brought in.

As long as the lens in the sun glass frame is a separate piece, and there is a replacement lens that will fit it it should work out fine.

yes of couse you can take the sunglass frames to the eye doctor or where you get them done and show the frames to them and tell them that these are the frames you want to use.
