My boyfriend was arrested last night (St. Patrick's Day) for disorderly conduct. Big deal, but not the end of the world. Except that he is in the military. Can someone please help me understand what the procedure for him is from here? And what is the difference between this and public drunkeness? Is this charge serious enough to be kicked out the military?

As a former NCO that's chaptered many soldiers. I'm pretty sure nothing major is going to happen to him. He'll probably receive a comany grade Article 15 and lose some rank. If the Battalion Commander is really strict he'll receive a Field-Grade Article 15 and lose more than one rank.

The worst case scenario is a chapter for patterns of misconduct if he has a track record.

He needs to speak to JAG. He may get an Article 15. He can also get 45 and demoted. if his CDR and 1SG don't like him, they can reccomend kicking him out. If he wants to stay in, he needs to get with JAG, and straighten up his act quickly! If he has ever been in trouble and is a good soldier, it may just be a little annoyance on his record. More than likely he will just be pulling some extra duty.

all depends on the situation, was he pushed in to a confrontation?, at that point everyone gets arrested, and i dont think he will get kicked out of the miliutary, ifhe was one of my troops, Id recommend thirty days restriction to post, Lord knows financially he will be burdened with civil penalties unless he gets the charges dropped, which can happen
