I was given a Nikon N75 and I would like to know if anyone has any pointers on using and taking really good pictures. The users manual wasn't with and I'm really not sure if I'm doing everything correct but I think I'm doing ok. How ever I was taking pictures at a wedding Friday night and it would keep light freezing up on me wouldn't take the picture it would click and zoom but wouldn't take the picture it totally made me look like a fool. I'm trying to become a photographer and I'm trying to also get any kind of pointers from anyone who can help. Thanks

You can download the manual from Nikonusa.

I am not very familiar with the N75, but it may be that in low light it wasn't able to acheive focus, and thus wouldn't fire the shutter. Or else, your batteries were low. (I hope you weren't the "event photographer")

You get the best out of any camera by knowing what the settings do and how that affects your image. Get a couple of books on beginning photography (Kodak had a really good one, out of print but you might find it on Amazon used) Also I'd suggest "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson.

Good luck!

I'm not sure what you are talking about when light freezing up, do mean the flash would not fire or take a long time to recycle if this the case make sure there are fresh batteries in the flash and camera.

I would also recommend joining a forum instead of posting your question here. Here is a good one.

PS I'm sorry about your loss.
